Capability: Transport Modelling
Many of the projects QTP advise upon are assisted through our considerable expertise in transport model development and analysis.
Transport models are predictive tools which, if well-applied, can provide a sound objective foundation to understand issues, inform our recommendations and, ultimately, assist our clients' decision-making.
Models can range from strategic regional planning models, wide-area networks, corridor models through to isolated local intersections.
We are always happy to discuss the most appropriate model platform and method of application, as this will depend upon a number of factors including the scale and extent of likely issues (e.g. wide-area, corridor or local), time-frames and potential decision risks.
While some form of modelling may often be the best way to robustly inform both quantitative and qualitative assessment and evaluation, it is however ultimately only a tool - and we will always advise clients on the most appropriate way to meet their specific needs.
